It's been 5 years ......

Image
Wow, it's been 5 years since I first starting working on this blog and I think I have completely FAILED on keeping up with it. With life going and going, I kept coming up with reasons not to put more into this.  Our lives have changed so much since and with social media becoming more and more the "to go" place for everything, I figure I give this one more try. So lets see if 2018 can bring more inspiration and fun to our family blog.  Our two girls are getting so big that I would love to have a place where we can always look back and see all our adventures.  We have become a family that literally lives the same routine everyday.  Wake up, go to school/work, come home, clean, have dinner and get ready for the next day.  Boring boring boring..... So lets get this started, 2018 lets change some things up and enjoy this BEAUTIFUL place we call our HOME.  Hawaii is so full of beautiful views, amazing people and overall a PARADISE.  We are truly bles...

A New Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Image
So we have found a new cookie recipe, I know we found it on Pinterest and if I find the link I will post it here.  We have made it a few times now and it NEVER lasts more than 2 days.  Everyone loves them so I thought I would share it here.  Chocolate Chip Cookies 2 3/4 cups Flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2 sticks butter, softened 1/2 cup sugar 1 1/4 cup brown sugar 2 tsp vanilla extract 2 eggs & 1 egg yolk 2 cups chocolate chips 1. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. 2. Combine butter and sugars, add vanilla and eggs and mix well. 3. Add dry mix and blend, add chocolate chips. 4. OPTIONAL: (this is how we like it)  place dough on a long sheet of syran wrap and  roll it.  Wrap it up and throw it in the freezer for a 2-4 hours.  When ready to bake them, cut them into slices and let them thaw out for about 15 minutes.  Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and bake them for 12-15 minut...

Life

For about a month now, we as a family, have been going to the gym.  The two girls go the the keiki center while hubby and I workout.  Training with him has been a little tough, but I love it.  We are currently trying to encourage Joce to take some classes provided at the gym but with no luck.  I think shes afraid of the classes.  Hopefully soon she will see how much fun she could have there.  Goals, goals, goals, goals, goals.................... I CAN DO IT!!!

It's been a LONG minute since I last posted here on the blog.  But as the year is coming to an end, I am realizing that I need to start up again.  Somewhere to share and write down all that has been going on and also keeping family up to date.  I'm so bad at keeping up with all the photo albums and things slip my mind so often.  So to my family, I hope you all enjoy all the updates. Its the holiday season and I am so NOT ready for it.... November is my month to prepare for the christmas season.  Keeping an eye on sales and clearance items are a must right now.  Then, it's BLACK FRIDAY !!!!! Goal for this year is to have every ones gifts bought by the first weekend in December and then the miscellaneous/unexpected gifts after that. I keep telling myself that I will do a savings plan for christmas for the past 4 years and still have yet to complete it.  But I am determined this coming year to do it.  Here is a link that I found from http://mom...

Starting the year with an Organized Binder

Bills, bills, and more bills, it seems that no matter what we do these things just won't go away.  I think every year of my adult life (about a decade, hehe) I have changed my way of organizing all this STUFF to see what works best for me.  It's not easy to find something that you know you are going to like and trial and error is just the best way of figuring that out.   So this year, I am going to once again try the binder method , and I must admit, so far I am liking it.  Simple and easy to do.  Here are the different binders that I will be working on: 1) Household  2) Bills  3) Banking/Income 4) Recipes 5) Medical
